Our aim for the Ngwo Walk Carnival is simple: to bring the people of Ngwo Iri together every year. We want to promote unity, understanding, and respect for our differences. This event provides a great opportunity for socializing, creating unforgettable memories for the elderly and lasting impressions for the youth.

The carnival has multiple benefits. It encourages a healthy lifestyle through walking, while also contributing to our community's economic, social, and educational well-being. Our goal is to make this an annual tradition, a regular gathering for various activities. Just like the Calabar Carnival, which started small and became the largest in Africa, we believe our carnival has the potential to boost tourism.

But our Ngwo Walk Carnival is more than just a gathering; it's a celebration of our unique villages and traditions. We've organized the carnival into three bands, each representing different communities.

Band A

  • Theme Color: Red
  • Villages: Uborji, Amankwo & Ameke

Band B

  • Theme Color: Yellow
  • Villages: Okwojo, Umuase, Ukaka & Amebo

Band C

  • Theme Color: Green
  • Villages: Enugu, Etiti & Amachalla
