Mrs. Elizabeth Oyibo Agu, former CBN Director, is a seasoned banking executive with advanced degrees and training from Harvard and Stanford.
MRS. ELIZABETH OYIBO AGU, mni, BA, MA, MBA, is a former Director and Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Before her elevation as Director and controller at the CBN HQ, she rose from the ranks and was pioneer Branch Controller of the CBN in Asaba, Delta State. Prior to her distinguished banking career at the CBN, she was Executive Secretary; Anambra State Vegetable Oil Processing Company. She is a highly accomplished professional with substantive experience in top executive management and administrative roles in the banking industry with numerous performance-related awards. With an excellent academic and professional background, Mrs. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Minnesota (USA) with B.A in Political Science. She also had her MBA from Mercer University, Atlanta, Georgia (USA) and a second master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Sam Houston University, Huntsville, Texas (USA).

She has extensive professional executive training including two courses at Harvard; Leadership Decision-Making: Optimizing Organizational Performance (2010); and Women and Power: Leadership in a New World (2006) and, Emerging Women Leaders Program (2012) at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in the United States as well as the prestigious and preeminent National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies at Kuru in Jos, Nigeria. Mrs. Agu, mni is a member of the following Professional Associations; Nigerian Institute of Directors, Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Alumni Association of the National Institute (mni), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
