Chief Osita Ngwu, fondly known as RG, is a distinguished engineer, successful businessman, rising politician, and esteemed philanthropist. His career has spanned both the private and public sectors, where he is recognized for his intelligence, hard work, and humility, with a strong dedication to public service and philanthropy.

Career:
Ngwu has amassed over 15 years of experience as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, progressing from trainee engineer to Executive Director. Between 2003 and 2018, he held various key roles in engineering departments, excelling in the design, procurement, construction, and management of oil and gas infrastructure, both offshore and onshore.
From 2007 to 2010, Ngwu worked with Baywood Continental Limited, where he handled high-level technical and commercial proposals for major oil and gas projects. He reviewed subcontract, consultancy, and joint venture agreements, conducted cost and risk analysis, and ensured tenders complied with client standards.

Between 2010 and 2016, he played a key role in the OML Phase 1 – O.U.R 42” X 45Km Gas Pipeline Project for Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited. This project was the largest onshore gas pipeline in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ngwu also managed the upgrade project for Shell Petroleum Development Company from 2016 to 2018.
In his impressive career, Ngwu advanced through positions such as project engineer, construction engineer, project manager, business development manager, and ultimately Executive Director in a reputable oil and gas firm, overseeing several significant projects.
In 2016, Ngwu transitioned into the private sector, starting his own production business. Within six years, he grew the business into a multi-billion Naira enterprise, employing 533 workers. His leadership and entrepreneurial success demonstrate his commitment to national development, particularly by supporting youth employment in Nigeria.
Politics:
Ngwu's desire to serve his people led him to pursue politics. In 2018, he planned to contest for the Udi/Ezeagu House of Representatives seat under the PDP but stepped down in support of the incumbent, Hon. Dennis Amadi. Despite stepping aside, Ngwu continued to contribute significantly to the progress of the PDP in Enugu State.
In 2023, Ngwu contested for the Enugu West senatorial district ticket, securing a landslide victory in the PDP primaries. His win was announced by the chief returning officer of the senatorial district congress electoral committee. Alongside his victory, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani and Governor Ugwuanyi Ifeanyi emerged as candidates for the Enugu East and Enugu North senatorial districts, respectively.
